It’s been more than a month now that I have not been able to make progress with data science because of the exams for the Musicology university! It was a difficult period and today I did a revision in data science and the Python course on Udemy. I’m ready to make progress again and the fact that a friend of mine was able to get a good job in data analysis here in Greece, was a big motivation for me. He advised me to get a relevant job and build working experience, it is more important than a master, which I will be able to do whenever I want. I’m ready to continue my journey! Let’s go!

These days I have my exams for Musicology, which I still study and I really have no time and energy for data science. I have patience and in about 3 weeks I’ll be ready to continue with my studies in data science! Focus at one thing at a time !

Christmas holidays have just finished and I’m ready to start this year with excitement! I’ve completed 25% of the new course – Python for Data Science and Machine Learning Bootcamp by Udemy – and it’s really good! The exercises really help me to understand Python and how it works, I think it’s a very good start for a beginner in Python. I also watched a guy who is really good at explaining Python https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfscVS0vtbw&t=11057s and did some fun projects watching his videos! Also this channel is awesome too https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4JX40jDee_tINbkjycV4Sg
I’ve so many things to do, that organization of my time is essential…I’ll try not to work for more than 2 hours a day, I think they are enough if I study every day and stay consistent and focused. Making a schedule and sticking to it is probably the best solution! I’ll make it!

Finished today with the Python exercises from Udemy course and I did well generally, it takes time to get used to the language. I was thinking today that it will be a difficult period from 2020, because I will have my new job in the morning (which is part time) and my other job as music teacher in the afternoon. So I’ll have to be really focused and organized. Preparing my meals the day before will also be a good idea and going to the gym a certain time of the day. I also have to give exams and pass as many lessons as I can in Musicology where I’m still a student here in Athens. The difficult period will be up to the end of June, before the summer holidays. However I’m excited about my new job and the challenge of doing so many things… focus , consistency and organization are the key words. 2019 was a good year for me and I hope 2020 will be even better, especially for my skills and job opportunities in data science. Can’t wait!

Today I started the other course I am enrolled in, which is called “Python for Data Science and Machine Learning Bootcamp” from Udemy. From what I’ve seen so far it is a very good course that teaches the basics on Python programming and applies them on data science. It will be very useful in order to understand Python and some concepts unknown to me. My knowledge of R language makes it easier, but still I have a long way to go!

Completed today the “Machine Learning A-Z™: Hands-On Python & R In Data Science” course from “Udemy” and overall it was a good course, it showed me the amount of work I need to do to become an expert in the field of data science, there are so many things and algorithms to learn. The next step is probably to start the Python course and maybe work with some projects, I think that is very important to do. Also enjoying Christmas holidays!

I was thinking about doing some projects on Python and R, which will be a great way to learn the language better and also apply some techniques I’ve learned so far. One idea is to do NLP on Airbnb reviews. I was also thinking that data science is a trend and lots of people in the future will be data scientists. I don’t need to worry if I will become successful in the field, the competition is high in every field. Also I need to take this a little easier and everything will be ok! Finally I’m very close to complete the Machine Learning A-Z course.

These days I made progress in the Udemy course about machine learning and learned some interesting stuff like Association rule learning. I want to learn more about Python programming , there are many lessons on YouTube as well as many courses. Also spent a lot of time to understand the “Upper confidence bound” algorithm in R and Python.

Learned about cross validation today from the book “Elements of statistical learning” and also read a little from the book “All of Statistics” . Also watched a video https://www.khanacademy.org/math/precalculus/x9e81a4f98389efdf:prob-comb/x9e81a4f98389efdf:prob-combinatorics-precalc/v/generalizing-with-binomial-coefficients-bit-advanced from Kahn Academy regarding probabilities, it is a really good site for learning! Finally learned about K-means clustering from Udemy course, it is now 50% complete!

First day of Winter today! I’ve also joined another course on Udemy https://www.udemy.com/course/python-for-data-science-and-machine-learning-bootcamp/ which is called python for data science and machine learning bootcamp and made progress on the other course I’ve joined(Machine Learning A-Z), approximately 25% is complete. The course is good for a beginner, with greater focus on practical issues and not much theory about how algorithms work. Also installed Python on my desktop Pc , so everything’s fine!
